Encased in a cell phone size body, the ViRDI UBion 5 features one of the slimmest fingerprint scanners, which is only 13.4 mm thick. The NScan-FM fingerprint module in UBion tablet empowers most of the ViRDI terminals and offers Live fingerprint recognition and Fake Fingerprint Detection (LFD) and images resulted are ISO19794-4, WSQ, RAW and BMP with ViRDI (proprietary), ISO 19794-2 and ANSI 378 template types. UBio 5 runs on an Android 7.0 operating system but does not support GSM network. The processor is a 1.3 GHz 64-bit quad-core, and the screen features multi-touch IPS LCD. The tablet comes with a 2 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM memory and USB 2.0 high-speed port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC 13.56 MHz card reading capability and a removable 6000 mAH Li-Ion battery.

The ViRDI V-Terminal application is pre-installed in the UBio 5, which communicates with the ViRDI UNIS 4.5 Command & Control software via wi-fi.
